After the ministry of prayer, hospitality has been the most characteristic service that monasteries have rendered to the Church.

From their very origins, monasteries have had guesthouses and have practiced hospitality with people who come to religious precincts to share with the monks some days of prayer, study or work. 

One of the beatitudes that the Lord has given us is: "I was a guest and you welcomed me" (Mt 25:35). Far from the Word of God being a memory, today we continue to practice this beatitude by welcoming all those whom divine providence guides to the monastery.

Hospitality lived in a spirit of faith is a source of grace for both the guest and the community.
